Self-portrait

 selfcartoon

It's been a long time since I've really worked on a self-portrait. It's nice now that reality is no longer needed!!!!!

Test yourselves to see if you are in the faith; examine yourselves! Or do you not recognize this about yourselves, that Jesus Christ is in you — unless indeed you fail the test? 2Cor. 13:5 NASV

In The Salvation Army, there are different types of Church meetings...there used to be five types of meetings on a Sunday...Prayer meeting in the morning before the Holiness meeting(regular 11:00 AM church service for saved Christians on Holy living----comparable to any church service),than off to the streets for an Open Air Meeting ( in the streets, at a park, the army would march down the streets with the band and the drums, and go to a place where people were unsaved), than  the people would march back to the Church for a Salvation meeting (including many from the park or streets), where people would get saved...and than in the Evening there would be a Praise Meeting...praising God for who he is.... Sundays used to be an all day affair, and everyone would stay for the entire day....

When we were in Vegas, we had a morning Holiness meeting at 9:30, than the folks from rehab, and the shelter would come to the 11AM Salvation Meeting, we would go home and nap and have a 6 PM praise meeting....

A couple of times a year, it is hard now adays...you need to obtain a permit to preach in a park on a street in a parking lot.....sad to say

Now you can help me, and I was puzzled last night when I was reading your comments, what is RYC?

No, has nothing to do with noise and amplification...everything is done with normal voice, called 'open air voice' in the Army, acoustic guitar, horns....has to do with holding a gathering in public, even though it may be private property, or parking lot of mall, private park, or even public park...yes, has a lot to do with evangelizing in public....thanks for the help with RYC!!!

You're welcome! I love doing movie reviews. In some ways I feel like I missed my calling :)But it's tough to break into the Movie Critic field. I thought about doing it for our church's website. I have a good friend who's a fellow movie buff and we see movies together all the time. We were going to have a column called Onstad and Anderson. We often disagree on how good the movies were, so it would make for fun articles :)

I think I should put up a review of No Country For Old Men, with Tommy Lee Jones. Highly disturbing, yet thought provoking and has a deep spiritual story line! We'll see.

Did you paint it? Or draw it? I'm confused though. Reality isn't needed? It is you but it isn't?

This is a photograph processed to look more like a drawing. And reshaped a bit to reflect a thinner me.

Ho there! Thanks for stopping by! When I live in AZ, ( Glendale, Bisbee & Casa Grande) I submitted some pictures to Arizona Highways, but never got them published. I post some now and then on my Xanga. I would like to see more of your work. Thanks, Mike.

Man, that's a terrific photo!  I love it!

Hey, thank you so much for all your prayers and support as my family has been dealing with this tough time.  I'll continue to keep updates on the status of rebuilding efforts on my blog.  God bless you!

Self portraits never turn out the way I want them to. Maybe it's because I lack artistic talent...
